‘Hammer’

A frontal kick also widely used in other marial arts, usually performed at high speed. Martelo is often mistaken with Chapa / Pisao which is a snapping kick as opposed to the latter ones which are thrusting kicks. Personally, I find Martelo to be particularly effective as a couter-attack.
